Check Car Tire Tread And Pressure

Start planning on changing your tires to winter or all-season ones. Plus check the condition of any worn out or damaged tire treads before driving this season, as it may be dangerous during the cold and icy nights as night temperatures drop. Don’t forget that a lower average temperature can also alter car’s tire pressures which means you’ll want to verify their pressure so that your car remains safe to drive and saves your fuel usage.

Inspect Your Wiper Blades

We all know that winter is the time to buy new wipers, but did you also consider how quickly they degrade in ice-cold weather? It’s best not wait until your window’s vision gets blurry before replacing them.  If they are starting to go, don’t wait on it and get them replaced!   Your vehicle manual should provide general guidance on blade replacement as well as when each filter needs changing!

Setup an Emergency Safety Kit

It’s easy to make an emergency kit for your car.  Here are a few key item’s we recommend!

  • Consider getting a plastic orange safety triangle and flares. In case you are in a tricky spot, you want to be seen so that other drivers can react before its too late.
  • A flashlight with extra batteries
  • Spare Tire & Jack
  • Rain poncho and ice scraper for nasty weather
  • Jumper cables
  • Snacks
  • A first aid kit
  • A blanket
